My approach to trauma informed yoga ensures safe and accessible space to breathe into your practice. This means that I:
Understand how trauma can affect the mind and body
Know the importance of creating a sense of safety
Avoid language or actions that could be triggering
Give options rather than directives so students feel in control
Give adjustments verbally or by demonstrating
I am passionate about and committed to bringing more people of color into their practice on onto their mats. It is crucial for BIPOC individuals to see a reflection of themselves in our increasingly divided society where being the minority is even more distinct within the yoga community. I will:
